Tom Tom GPS File Instructions

MichCanSka.ov2 (this is the Tom Tom POI file; right click and Save File As, then copy to the folder "United States" on your TomTom)

The TomTOm can only handle a Point of Interest file, which is just the overnight destinations (ie waypoints). Not all TomTom units can be connected to a computer for the information to be downloaded.

Point of Interest File for Tom-Tom GPS units, must be saved to your GPS. To use, touch the map screen, then choose "Navigate To", touch "Point of Interest", touch "POI Near You", touch "MichCanSka (or click right arrow to see full list of POI, then scroll until MichCanSka is listed), touch the day you want to navigate to (it will bring up a map of the point), touch "Select" and it should allow you to navigate to it. Of course, the TomTom only understands roads, so it will try to navigate to there by roads and not the trails.

Alternatively, an "itinerary" can be built in the GPS: Touch map, touch "Itinerary Planning", touch "Add", touch "Point of Interest", touch "POI Near You", touch "MichCanSka" (or touch right arrow to browse full list, then touch "MichCanSka"), touch the name of the first day you want in the list (ie "Day 5"), touch "Select". The point is now added to your itinerary; repeat for each day to add each day's stop to the list.
